Resurrection Bay is the spot to go fishing in Seward, you can fish from the shore or head out on a guided fishing trip. Multiple types of fish swim through the waters of Resurrection Bay, including Pink salmon, Silver salmon, Red salmon, King salmon, Rockfish and Halibut.

How Much Does It Cost for Fishing in Alaska?

There are a lot of factors that can influence the cost of your fishing trip in Alaska if you’re a nonresident. Individuals younger than 16 don’t need a sport fishing license or a king salmon stamp (if you’re planning on fishing for king salmon), anglers who are 16+ will need both.

You can get an annual sport fishing license that’s $100, but you could also get a sport fishing license in increments of 1 day, 3 days, 7 days or 14 days. Those costs are $15, $30, $45 and $75, respectively. A replacement license is $5. King salmon stamps have the same cost.

For example, the First Time in Alaska package, which includes 4 nights of lodging along with 3 days of fishing is approximately $1,400, while the Killer Combo Package includes 7 nights of lodging for about $3,200. Discounts may be available depending on how many are in your group.

How Much Does It Cost to Go Halibut Fishing in Alaska?

Halibut fishing varies from $395 to $450 depending on the time of season and the location you will be fishing out of most of our trips out of Seward have more than one species that will be added to the trip. The State of Alaska does have a fee for a king salmon stamp and a halibut stamp to be able to fish for these species in Alaska.

Summer is an extremely popular time to go fishing in Seward, Alaska, so expect a lot of fellow anglers. Salmon is the main type of fish you can look forward to catching, with species including silver, sockeye and king.
